Did you know that there is a day to celebrate your amazing bookshelf? That's right. National Shelfie Day is January 22! I want to see the amazing pictures of your book cases!
I have - honestly - a stupid amount of books in my house. I have a bookcase in my office with most of the books I've been picking up from indie authors at conventions over the past few years. I also have five in my library room. The shelves are full, stacked all kinds of ways to get the most in. My son has a bookcase in his room, as does my daughter. And my daughter has two bookcases in the library as well.
We have a lot of books. And a lot of book shelves.
We are a house of readers. One of my earliest memories is of my aunt coming over with a paper bag full of harlequins she'd finished reading. Sometimes westerns were thrown in the bag. Sometimes something else.
I grew up on the Lord of the Rings and Shakespeare. Clive Custler and Jack Higgins and Robert Ludlum. I remember my mother curled up in the recliner at night with a book she couldn't put down. I remember lying in front of our old stereo and reading a book from cover to cover (I still binge read :P).
I blame my mother for that. As well as for my love of the fantastical. I also blame her for the fact that my TBR pile will never end. I'm also eternally grateful.
It's why I love the idea of sharing my bookshelf with you! And I really want to know what your bookshelf and TBR look like!
And I hope you have a wonderful Shelfie Day on Wednesday! Happy exploring, my Friends!
